In an effort to help raise vital funds to support children with cancer and their families and to mark September as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, Wilsons Auctions is proud to be associated as a partner official bidding at the Cancer Fund for Children (CFFC) at the Grand Daisy Ball will be held September 17 at the Shelbourne Hotel.

The online auction is now open to the public (https://www.wilsonsauctions.com/timed-auction/listings?salecode=DO400), with some fantastic lots on offer for a very worthy cause.

Proceeds raised from the auction from now on and on the evening of the event will go towards a capital appeal to build the Children’s Cancer Fund’s new short break therapy center, Daisy Lodge, which will be located to Cong.

If you’re into sports, there’s a range of prizes up for grabs, including signed Harry Kane football boots, a unique signed ‘Legends of Rugby’ book with tickets to England v South Africa and a Special framed Irish shirt signed by former Ireland and Ulster Rugby captain Rory Best, including two premium tickets for Ireland against South Africa at the Aviva Stadium on November 5.

Horse racing enthusiasts have the option of bidding on a Coolmore Stud VIP experience for four with lunch and fine dining. Or if golf is your passion, a three-night stay with two days of golf for four at the luxurious Camiral at the PGA Catalunya Golf and Wellness Resort in Spain may be worthwhile.

The artwork is also listed in the exclusive auction catalog with a live in the night painting by local artist John Fitzgerald, one of Ireland’s leading equine artists and sculptors available for auction. Eoin O’Connor, a leading contemporary artist from County Wexford, has created a bespoke painting ‘The Daisy Lodge’ for the Cancer Fund for Children. The atmospheric sky in the painting offers hope, tranquility and peace, an almost magical escape, representing what a new Daisy Lodge will mean for so many families affected by childhood cancer.

Those who prefer to make a philanthropic donation have the opportunity to offer a short therapeutic break to a family affected by childhood cancer at Daisy Lodge in Newcastle, Co. Down.

Ahead of the auction, auctioneer and director of Wilsons Auctions, Ricky Wilson, said: “I am honored to be part of this wonderful event, to not only help raise funds for such an amazing cause, but also to publicize a charitable foundation that brings so much support and joy to children living with cancer across Ireland.

For those not attending the Gala Ball, all prizes can be viewed online and commission offers can be arranged. For inquiries, please contact [email protected].

The Daisy Gala Ball, sponsored by Cellnex, is now in its fourth year and has raised over €470,000 for a second Daisy Lodge in Mayo. This new therapy center will be a safe and supportive space where families dealing with childhood cancer can focus on their time together.

It is modeled after the Cancer Fund for Children’s existing Daisy Lodge in County Down, which supports around 1,800 children and parents each year. Having a second therapeutic center will enable the association to increase this number to 4,000 per year.

Said Phil Alexander, CEO of Cancer Fund for Children, “We are thrilled that Wilsons Auction has joined us in supporting this year’s Grand Daisy Ball. The price quality is truly unique and we are very grateful to Wilsons Auctions who run this item.

“There are prizes for horse racing enthusiasts, art lovers, rugby and football fans, golf fanatics and for those looking for a luxury break. All prizes were very generously donated and 100% of all funds raised will go to the Children’s Cancer Fund, as we strive to ensure that no child has to face cancer alone.
