Senior Business Analyst – Leisure Industry

A high-end multinational luxury hotel group with 26 boutique hotels across the world, requires an experienced, proactive and highly analytical senior business analyst to report to senior finance management in the UK. The role is to ensure that all critical financial systems are properly administered and maintained in accordance with business needs and legal requirements. The role ensures data feeds are timely and accurate and also adds controls to ensure reporting accuracy and transparency.

Main responsibilities:
System administration
Day-to-day administration of the Groupe Sage X3 accounting software
Day-to-day administration of the group’s FP&A package, Fairmas
Daily administration of the financial component of the group’s PMS system
Point of contact for day-to-day system issues with system vendors
Monitoring and managing the resolution of SLA problems
Development of new functionalities requested by the Group Reporting Manager
Point of contact for system queries for all internal Sage/Fairmas/PMS finance users
Day-to-day administration of all Group banking systems
Under the direction of CFO, ensure accounting/PMS/FP&A systems are updated as necessary to enable the business to generate revenue and capture data insights to enable decision making fast

Interfaces and data flows
Delegate downloads of revenue and statistical data from PMS systems to the accounting system, Sage X3, hotels and perform checks
Download actual results for all hotels from Sage X3 to FP&A system, as instructed by management
Download approved budgets from the FP&A system to Sage X3
Download projected monthly revenue for all hotels in the FP&A system

Internal controls and process improvements
Assist in the continuous improvement of the P2P process in all jurisdictions, automating processes as much as possible (such as automatic payment uploads)
Ensure that all rights in the system are monitored and updated to ensure proper segregation and transparency
Provide documentation to auditors to perform system/user role audits

Accounting and taxation
Assist CFO in updating systems to USALI industry standard (Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry)
Assist the Group CFO to ensure the update of Sage X3, with new nominals to allow the implementation of new accounting standards according to IFRS
Assist the Group Finance Director to ensure the updating of accounting systems/PMS, in order to enable the implementation of new tax requirements in the different jurisdictions

Gather, combine and publish the weekly group revenue report
Assemble, combine and issue the group accounts receivable report
Assist the Group Finance Manager in the continuous improvement of FP&A systems to facilitate the hotel forecasting and budgeting process

Support the implementation of the new Group PMS system
Assist in the implementation of Sage’s procurement module

Key skills required
BCom/BCom Hons (Accounting) essential
At least 5 years of hospitality experience with exposure to non-negotiable hotel systems/interfaces
Excellent command of Sage X3 or similar ERP system
Advanced Excel
