“We already have 8,355 businesses here with a turnover of £15.9 billion and they will testify to the benefits of this area.

“There has been a 24% increase in the number of businesses in North Lanarkshire over the last ten years, and recently we have welcomed some of the biggest names in the house, including Lidl, Morrisons DPD and BrewDog.

“We have a highly skilled workforce and half the population of Scotland, a significant customer base, is on the doorstep of North Lanarkshire.

“With private and public sector partners, the council is investing in key projects such as the regeneration of the Ravenscraig site, Europe’s largest brownfield site, a transport interchange at Motherwell station, the continued expansion of ‘Eurocentral and a key road link between the M74 to the south and the M8 at Cumbernauld.

“The council and Business Gateway Lanarkshire also offer strong support to the business community with funding, training, help finding accommodation and skills development.

“So our message is clear – North Lanarkshire is the place to invest for a positive and prosperous future.”

Over the past year, foreign investment has continued to strengthen the area with multi-million pound developments in place or underway.
