The hotel remains open during the renovation, which began in January 2020 and is expected to be completed in March.

Upon completion, guests will discover new rugs, seating, and fabrics in all rooms, suites, and public areas. Blending bold patterns and vibrant colors, the hotel’s refreshed look invigorates the space while staying true to the brand’s eclectic character. Other notable upgrades include the expansion and complete reorganization of the hotel lobby, W XYZ bar and outdoor patio, The Ledge on Biltmore, improving functionality and fluidity, complemented by all new contemporary furnishings.

Additionally, the new design proudly incorporates locally inspired elements and locally commissioned artwork from Asheville native Liz Barr of Art Resources, paying homage to Asheville’s creative culture, including a mural. in the Engines Lobby highlighting several of the most popular downtown areas produced by The Big Bridge Studio and an expansive piece in the two-level lobby entrance honoring the musicians created by Scott Allred with Brushcan Studios. Hotel rooms will also receive a fine art refresh with headboards from Brushcan Studios and busker imagery by local artist John Haldane.

The hotel, which opened in 2012, is owned and managed by McKibbon Hospitality. McKibbon Places, the Atlanta-based sister company of McKibbon Hospitality specializing in hotel development and renovation, is a consultant for the hotel renovation, which is being carried out by the North Carolina-based contractor. , First Finish & Design One.

Aloft Asheville Downtown offers guests a modern, urban-chic experience in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The four-story hotel features 111 rooms, four suites, 649 square feet of meeting space, a fitness center, and an outdoor pool.
