Being John Malkovich turned out distinctly funny in the eponymous 1999 film.

But the 57-year-old actor wasn’t having so much fun yesterday when he found out he had been robbed.

The actor discovered missing personal effects in his hotel room in Prague.

He was staying at the upscale Mandarin Oriental hotel in the Czech town after starring in the murderous melodrama Infernal Comedy, based on a real Austrian serial killer, at the Prague Spring music festival on Thursday.

“We can confirm that an investigation is ongoing into the case of the disappearance of Mr. Malkovich’s personal effects,” a hotel spokeswoman said.

According to sources, two cell phones were stolen from the actor’s bedroom.

However, the flight did not prevent Malkovich from continuing his European tour.

The 57-year-old actor immediately flew to Poland where he held a press conference for the play.

He even managed to muster a smile as he was presented with flowers after his interviews.

The actor will next be seen in the upcoming Transformers Dark of The Moon movie which will be released this summer.

Malkovich starred in the 1999 comedy Being John Malkovich where a puppeteer finds a passage through Malkovich’s mind.
