In-Person Mayo Clinics for Farmer BPS Application Requests

Agriculture Minister Charlie McConalogue has announced a schedule of in-person Basic Payment Scheme (BPS) clinics to help farmers apply for BPS and other related schemes online.

The first clinic will take place next Monday 4th April at the Ellison Hotel, Castlebar, with another clinic scheduled in Ballina at the Great National Hotel Ballina on 12th April, both from 9.30am to 3.00pm.

Minister McConalogue said: “During the Covid restrictions, my department has been unable to run clinics in 2020 and 2021. With many of the restrictions lifted, I am delighted to announce the return of these clinics in person across the country where farmers can meet one-on-one with a department official and apply for BPS on the spot.

“These clinics have proven to be very popular with farmers in previous years and I am pleased to announce the return of this service again this year.”

Some 24,000 farmers have already submitted their application since the online service opened in February.

The minister urged all farmers to submit their BPS application as soon as possible before the May 16 deadline.

If farmers have already submitted their application for this year and now wish to acquire additional land or change their crop type, they can log back into agfood.ie to make changes, but they must ensure they do so before the May 16 deadline.
