CVVB Event Matching Grants Application Deadline Fast Approaching – Cache Valley Daily

The deadline for submitting Advertising and Event Development Matching Grant applications to the Cache Valley Visitors Bureau is March 1.

CACHE COUNTY – Local event planners and organizations have just two weeks left to apply for marketing matching grants from the Cache Valley Visitors Bureau (CVVB).

“Our primary goal is to increase hotel stays in Cache Valley,” according to CVVB Director Julie Hollist Terrill. “So we’re looking for events and marketing strategies that will get people here staying the night.”

Matching grants of up to $1,500 are available in two categories, says Hollist Terrill.

The first is to provide matching grants to advertise existing events in markets outside of the northern Utah region.

The second is matching grants for the development of new events that will entice visitors to spend at least one night in a hotel in the area.

Hollist Terrill adds that preference for grants will be given to events from October 1 through May 15, which are traditionally slower months for local hoteliers.

Funding for these matching grants will be provided through transitional resort taxes collected by Cache County hotels. Successful applicants for these grants can only receive a maximum of $1,500, but organizational applicants can receive event development for up to three years.

Matching grant applications must be submitted to the Cache Valley Visitors Desk at 119 N. Main St. in Logan by 5 p.m. March 1.

Applications are available at the CVVB office or online at www.explorelogan.com.

Organizers of existing events, activities, festivals, conferences and programs with marketing efforts outside of Cache, Rich, Box Elder, Franklin and Bear Lake counties may apply for assistance with advertising efforts outside of Cache, Rich, Box Elder, Franklin and Bear Lake counties. zoned.

Previous awards from these Out-of-Zone Marketing Matching Grants have gone to Baby Animal Days, Top of Utah Marathon, Cache Valley Center for the Arts, Cache Valley Cruise-In and others.

Previously, event development grants have been awarded to the Gran Fondo, Wasatch Back Relay, Cache Bash Softball Tournament, Cache Valley Cowboy Rendezvous, Fall Harvest Days at the American West Heritage Center and others.

“We want to do everything we can to support the events taking place this year,” added Deb Harvey, Chair of the CVVB Advisory Board.

“After the past two difficult years (due to the pandemic), we need events for visitors and locals.”
