BBMP orders reservation of beds in pvt hospitals for Covid patients

Bangalore, January 6 (IANS): BBMP Chief Commissioner Gaurav Gupta on Thursday asked the Association of Private Hospitals and Nursing Homes (PHANA), Suvarna Arogya Suraksha Trust (SAST) and private hospitals to keep the beds reserved (in accordance with the government order) for the treatment of Covid.

Speaking to a virtual meeting regarding booking hospital beds, he said Covid cases were increasing day by day in the city. Therefore, according to the government decree, all private hospitals must be ready and reserve 30% of the beds in each category, i.e. intensive care, intensive care with ventilator, HDU / oxygen beds. and general for the treatment of Covid-19 patients.

Gaurav Gupta instructed the hotel association to prepare to set up Covid care centers in their facilities.

Addressing a virtual meeting, the chief commissioner asked the hotel association to partner with private hospitals to reopen Covid care centers and close hospitals that were opened earlier in hotels. Take the necessary measures for this and work to control the spread of Covid-19, he added.

Special Commissioner (Health) Dr Trilok Chandra, Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr Balasundar, Covid War Room staff and other officers were present.
